Honoring heroes with special abilities who conquered disabilities and enriched society
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], December 13: The Dr Batra’s® Positive Health Awards stands as a unique and pioneering event in Mumbai, dedicated to acknowledging individuals who have triumphed over profound illnesses and disabilities, demonstrating resilience and optimism while actively contributing to society. The 15th edition of these prestigious awards took place at Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, NPCA Mumbai, where five remarkable individuals, who not only overcame adversities but also made significant contributions to the community, were honored and celebrated for their unwavering determination. The chief guest, Fatima Sana Shaikh, renowned Indian Actress also graced the event.
The eminent jury panel comprising of Rajiv Bajaj – MD, Bajaj Auto, Padma Shri recipient, Dr. Mukesh Batra, and Founder, Dr Batra’s Group of Companies, Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Vivek Oberoi, and R. Balki, had a difficult job of selecting the winners from hundreds of applications from across the country.
More than 1000 industry leaders, from various walks of life graced the occasion with their presence. The audience was treated to a captivating experience, featuring musical performances by ‘Swarrange,’ an orchestra comprised of visually challenged individuals and Aamad Dance Centre showcased dynamic performances on wheelchair, adding a unique and energetic dimension to the event. The program also featured an inspiring performance by Narendra Kasyap, despite having one leg.

Dr. Inshah Bashir was declared the People’s Choice winner with more than 27000 votes, while Balalatha Mallavarapu garnered over 21000 votes and Vidhya Y garnered over 11000 votes. The People’s choice nominations were conducted from 27th November to 6th December 2023 through Dr Batra’s® social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
Each of these awardees took home a lifetime of memories along with a certificate and trophy naming them ‘Positive Health Heroes 2023’ as well as a cheque for One Lakh Rupees to aid their journey in making this world a better place.
The event saw the whos-who of both industry and the film fraternity come together to recognize these Indian heroes whose extraordinary courage. Present at the event were Sulaiman Merchant, Madhoo Shah and Zayed Khan respectively.
